Buying early is different from activating early
A digital eSIM profile can often be purchased and installed before the trip, while the package validity may start later based on the supplier's activation rule. Always read the plan-specific activation information rather than assuming all eSIMs behave the same way.
Install while you still have reliable Wi-Fi
Doing the profile installation at home gives you time to solve compatibility or QR issues before you are standing in an airport. Keep the travel line disabled for mobile data until you are ready to use it if the plan instructions recommend that workflow.
Do not delete the profile just because it has no signal at home
A destination eSIM may not connect until you reach a supported network. Deleting a profile can create extra support work and some QR codes may not be reusable.
Confirm eSIM support, confirm the phone is unlocked, save the order details, install on Wi-Fi, read the activation rule, then select the travel line for data after arrival.
